No Experience Required!
This class is designed for the novice who wants to learn the basics of creating kiln-formed glass. Once you complete this course, you’ll be eligible to participate in Harmony’s intermediate fusing classes and to come in for shop time to work independently. Fusing Basics includes how to select fusible glass, the 6mm rule, different types of firing, reactions and specific tips for quick-start success! After a short lecture with lots of samples for inspiration, you will design and assemble your very own piece of warm glass art. You will receive instruction on how to use a glass cutting tool such as the Strip Pro and you'll participate in a kiln programming demo. We will fuse and slump your dish and it will be ready for pick up in about a week. You will also receive an extensive handout so that you can review the skills learned.
We require that you purchase any class tools and supplies here at Harmony. By doing so, you help ensure that your local stained glass store will be here as a place for fun and learning for many years to come.
If you would like to register with a Gift Certificate or Harmony store credit please call us at 281-998-3381.
