Intermediate Mosaics - Mosaic Garden Stone Mesh Method

Introduction to Mosaics or Other Mosaic Experience Required

Tuition plus cost of supplies, purchase or bring your own tools.

These mosaic rocks are delightful bits of art for your garden or for a special gift! Once you make your first one, you’ll be hooked! These mosaic rocks are delightful bits of art for your garden or for a special gift! Once you make your first one, you’ll be hooked! Using the mesh method, and creating a mosaic design of your own choice, you will create a one-of-a-kind mosaic onto mesh and then transfer it onto a garden stone. If you have pattern skills, you can develop your own pattern and bring it. You can search online for ideas. If easy-peasy is more your style, simply choose from one of the patterns we have available. Since these designs are small, you can select glass from the scrap bin. (Yours or ours)

Bring your own stone. You can visit a garden center to select a large smooth “river rock” or choose something else that is suitable. Your rock needs to be clean and dry before class. If you choose, you can pre-paint your rock with acrylic paint. Your rock should be approximately 8” to 12” in size. It is helpful but not necessary to select your pattern and glass before the day of class and bring them with you, or come early to class. Any Harmony associate can assist.

Mosaics can be labor-intensive. Depending on your design, you may not finish by the end of class. Because of the time it takes for glue to dry, we won’t grout in class. Grouting instructions will be provided to take home.

Please bring to class or purchase at Harmony on the day of class: Glass Cutting Tools, Mosaic Nippers, Sharpie Pen, Your Rock and pattern and Glass, Tweezers for Placing Tesserae, a Box to Carry Things Home In, waterproof Adhesive Glue.

Please wear long cotton pants and closed toe shoes, and bring safety glasses if you own them.

We require that you purchase any class tools and supplies here at Harmony when needed for your class. By doing so, you help ensure that your local stained glass store will be here as a place for fun and learning for many years to come.

If you would like to register with a Gift Certificate or Harmony store credit please call us at 281-998-3381.
