Sunday Is Fusing Fun Day! - Damming and Working Thick

Glass Cutting Experience Required, Fusing Experience Helpful.

Tuition plus cost of glass (includes firings and use of coldworking tools for up to two projects).

Have you ever admired the work of professional glass artists who create really thick work? If you've been wondering how they violate the 6mm rule and make plates that are 3/8" thick and thicker, join this class to learn about damming glass and working thick. In week one, we'll discuss how to dam squares, rectangles and rounds. We'll explore at least two different techniques for each shape. You can create one or two projects, depending on time. If you have an idea about a thick plate that you want to make, bring it with you. If you don't, we'll offer several options to help you create something that will make you proud! In week two, we'll examine the results and use the coldworking equipment to perfect the edges. That's how the pros do it and that's what you're going to learn. After taking this class, you'll be eligible to rent Harmony's coldworking tools.

Please bring safety glasses if you have them, and always wear long pants and closed toe shoes. See you in class!

We require that you purchase any class tools and supplies here at Harmony. By doing so, you help ensure that your local stained glass store will be here as a place for fun and learning for many years to come.

If you would like to register with a Gift Certificate or Harmony store credit please call us at 281-998-3381.
