Intermediate Mosaics - Mosaic Flower Pot

Introduction to Mosaics or Other Mosaic Experience Required

Tuition plus cost of supplies, purchase or bring your own tools.

Come learn to mosaic a beautiful flower pot for your home or garden! Creating a 3D mosaic can often be more complicated than anticipated, often leading to frustration. There's a lot to learn! What type of adhesive do I use? How do I keep my tiles from sliding off? Do I need to seal this before and/or after I mosaic it? What is unique about an outdoor mosaic vs. an indoor mosaic? All these questions, and more, will be answered in this one-day workshop. Due to the complexity of creating a mosaic on a curved surface, completing the project may take more than one day. We will discuss grouting and provide a handout for grouting at home.

Bring a 10” or larger made in Texas or Italy pot. Pots made in Mexico don’t hold up as well.

Please also bring or purchase on first day of class:

• Pre-Selected Pattern and Glass - You Can Pre-Cut Your Focal Pieces - Use Mosaic or Lead Shears

• Glass Cutter & Pliers

• Wheeled Mosaic Cutters (nippers)

• Fabric Tape Measure

• Waterproof Adhesive Glue

• Tweezers for Placing Tessarae

• Sharpie

• Plastic Baggies for leftover Tessarae and a box to carry things home in

Please wear long cotton pants and closed toe shoes, and bring safety glasses if you own them.

We require that you purchase any class tools and supplies here at Harmony when needed for your class. By doing so, you help ensure that your local stained glass store will be here as a place for fun and learning for many years to come.
